Every pickup is built with the highest quality components and in small batches to insure the absolute best results. All coils are wound by hand guiding the wire onto a bobbin spun by machine. By paying close attention to the details and building pickups with the same care and passion as the legends themselves who invented them, Pegcity Pickups will provide you with the tonal foundation that will deliver years of love and enjoyment on your guitar journey.

Paired the Angry Widow bridge with a fatboy special neck in a HS set up and it was exactly what I was looking for in my ash body guitar. Great punch from the bridge and smooth sounds from the neck. Great addition to this old guitar.
I have these pickups installed on a HH guitar with a 10-way switch and all of the different pickup position sound great.
For metal, I use the bridge and neck with volume and tone on 10.
For crunch, I use any position with volume at around 5 and tone at 8.
For clean, I use any position with volume on around 2 and tone at 8.
Everything sounds great !
Bought one of these as a blind choice to fill out he middle pickup selection for a high gain, low tuning HSH set, if anything to just fill the gap in a worse case scenario. What I found was a really fun, really fat sounding twangy flavour that can add some unexpected extra character in between some more “traditional” heavy metal lead tones. Also sounds great on its own in a clean scenario!
Bought a set of these to try to support a local Winnipeg company instead of spending the extra to get the colour I wanted from one of the other “big name companies” and was pleasantly surprised at the quality all around.
Packs the punch and clarity of one of the overwound ceramic types without any of the mid-high harshness. Also provides a lot more “stable” low end when dealing with high gain lower tunings.
Also being able to order exactly the colours you want without having to pay an arm and a leg is a nice added bonus!

My Casino arrived back from my local guitar shop with the new Casino P90s installed. I was blown away by the sound. The guitar now sounds like the Beatles Casinos.
I bought a set of these to upgrade the pickups in a Squier Affinity Series, and they are an amazing upgrade! The tone of all three of these pickups are great, and have given the guitar a real boost! Also amazing packaging and service. Happy to find some Canadian made pickups.
They are currently being installed on a Casino along with a new harness and pots. I can't wait to play the guitar.

Just installed vs-61 pickups in a new American pro2 Strat. Just got back from a rehearsal and I’m truly blown away by these pick ups. very quiet for single coils. They make the guitar come alive and I hate to compare, but they do everything better than the original pick ups. Beautiful round bell like tone for aclean sounds, and a nice smooth compressed sound for leads that has a nice bite but is never brittle. Good quick service and and just fabulous sounding pickups. I’m sold! Tone for days!
The Angry Widow lives up to its name. Quite hot output, and biting sound. The quality is top notch and you can tell it was constructed with care.
Put these in my strat and they sound great!!
I bought the EC-431 with the 2-stroke for the neck humbucker and it is such an incredible combo.
The EC-431 has a lot of punch, but still retains the twang of a tele and the 2-stroke really balances it out.
Could not have asked for better pickups.

Rewinds/Repairs
Free estimates on repairs. Rewind prices will very. Single coil pickups will range from $45-$60 depending on the style and work involved.
Humbuckers will range from $60-$90 dollars.
For basic repairs (when not rewinding) Price is $30/hr shop rate plus $10 flat rate for materials. All pickups are rewound and repaired with period correct materials in order to bring them back to their original state maybe even better :) For information on your repairs and how we can assist you please email kris@pegcitypickups.com

Coli split or Partial split and which one to use.
Due to the demand for tonal flexibility. Wiring humbuckers to split the coils in an attempt to achieve a single coil tone has become the standard. The truth is a humbucker with lower output (below 10.0k) when split can produce a weaker sound thats lower in volume. By adding a small resistor into the circuit inline with the wire that links the splitting pot to the ground, will allow some of the signal from the split coil to leak through boosting the overall signal just enough. The partial split will result in a very comparative single coil tone that retains its volume and presence. We recommend this mod for lower output humbuckers but it is not absolutely necessary. Look for it in the addons tab on the humbucker pages.
