Pegcity’s Fatboy Specials are high output coils with some serious grunt and snarl. For those that want to push their single coil equipped guitars to new heights. The higher output coil results in more midrange punch and higher compression. The Fatboy Specials are loud, aggressive, dynamic, yet clean up nicely when the volume is rolled off. The bridge and middle pickups have a steel plate attached to give just a little more punch.

I was looking for strat p'ups with a modern punch, but still tons of rich tone and responsiveness. The Fatboy Specials are exactly what I wanted. I mostly use the bridge, and it sounds fantastic. It really cuts through with tons of detail and clarity, BUT it still has a round top end that sings with the volume rolled back. Couldn't be happier. Kris is a great builder and a joy to deal with.
I bought a set of these to upgrade the pickups in a Squier Affinity Series, and they are an amazing upgrade! The tone of all three of these pickups are great, and have given the guitar a real boost! Also amazing packaging and service. Happy to find some Canadian made pickups.
Put these in my strat and they sound great!!
Upgraded my Strat with this neck pickup and instantly fell in love. As guitarists we use so many funny adjectives to describe our sought after tones. Kris was able to take these adjectives and find me a pickup that perfectly suited my needs. The Fatboy neck opens up the tone, clearly outlining upper harmonics and punch in the mids. Add some gain and doesn't lose definition in a mix.
Pick ups are very well built and packaged with care. Kris is an absolute legend of his craft as well as customer service.
I recently added a Fatboy Special neck pickup to one of my main guitars, and was blown away by its clarity and silky smooth sound. On high gain its crystal clear and articulate, on clean it has a beautiful presence and projection. Highly suggested to anyone who values a well rounded, clean neck tone!
