2-Stroke Humbucker (bridge)

Installed this in a 1978 Les Paul Deluxe with the bridge position routed for a full-size humbucker (originally a mini-humbucker). A5 magnet, 9.2k output, 5.5h inductance, 42 awg poly coat wire, wax potted, nickel cover. This LP is a stable, heavy but great sounding instrument, and the 2-Stroke is a tremendous match with the neck pickup (still a mini-hum - see my Little Bucks review). Was looking for a design that highlighted the naturally articulate timbre of the guitar, while remaining true to the more vintage vibe of the instrument. The 2-Stroke pairs very well with the neck pickup for funkier, clean middle position sounds. Perhaps more importantly, it reacts to overdriven tones with great versatility, reacting musically to legato and staccato single note lines to dynamic chord voicing. Pairs very well straight into vintage style amps as well as myriad effect pedals. Super versatile choice.

2 strokin awesome

I have these pickups in a 2022 manalishi green jackson soloist. This was the first time I read the description of a pickup set, and it was 100 percent true. The tight lows, smooth highs and harmonic richness of these pickups are phenomenal, I find they are quite reactive to the touch, with gentle little harmonics peeking over each note.. The two pickups match each other well, and being a guy who doesn’t like neck pickups often, this one I really do. The output is perfect for recording levels on my Scarlett focusrite. If a guy is skilled in soldering, I’d recommend a parallel series split to see more of the incredible range of these pickups. You could wash the makeup off from your rock show put the cowboy hat on and go to town playing lead in a country band after with this set. Highly recommend these babies! 5/5 all day. Tested with a valve king, dual rectifier, a boss katana and bias fx

Exactly what we were looking for!

My client, Danny, was looking to revive his old 80s HH Strat. He's a classic rock and blues player, and needed something rich and punchy, but cleans up nicely. This was his first electric guitar (back in the 90's), so we needed to get just the right voicing to fall in love with it again, and these Pegcity 2-Strokes fit the bill perfectly. Now it's back to being one of his favourite guitars again. You simply can't do better for an all-around great pickup.

Excellent pickups. These pickups were a perfect upgrade and produce the tone I was looking for. Kris was extremely knowledgeable and easy to deal with. Couldn't ask for a better experience.

Kris pulls it off again!

This company is unreal. I’ve played a lot of pickups over the years from stock pickups to high end high priced ‘boutique’ brands. Pegcity is better. Period. I wanted a humbucker that wasn’t harsh on the high end yet has a tighter low end. Not easy to pull off. But Kris did exactly that. This 2 stroke overwound pickup is insane. For me the sweet spot is with the volume pot slightly rolled back between 9-9.5. . It’s perfect in my LP. Thanks again Kris. I no longer obsessively look online at pickups anymore.
